The most striking thing about the town of Waldshut is probably the traffic-free Kaiserstraße, which you enter via a tower arch at both ends. In addition to countless cafés and restaurants, clothing boutiques line this shopping street. A market on Wednesday and Saturday, each morning, is popular. But a Christmas market in December, as well as regular grocers' markets, a French market and the Hamburg fishmongers also enrich the lively street.
What else does Waldshut offer: next to the train station, countless grocery stores, all close to each other. As well as shopping Sundays, fashion shows, Chilbi, culture (for example www.stellwerke.de) or the open air cinema evenings. Series of events such as the “Kabaretherbst” or the “World Town Festival” (http://world-town-festival.de) have also become very popular.
The shops in the city offer a lot: glasses shops, photo shops, doctors, dentists, pharmacies, kiosks, sports shops, ice cream parlors, bookstores, butchers, health food stores, hairdressers, travel agencies, banks, real estate, nail and cosmetic studios, etc.
To go out, we recommend Oscars Bar on Kaiserstrasse or just outside the Q3 Gastro Park (www.q3-gastropark.de), the Casablanca Piano Bar, or the Calypso Bar. The Herr Lehmann bar is new and features music from the 50s with rock'n'roll and boogie woogie.
