Bensheim is a small town worth seeing, located south of Darmstadt on the Hessian mountain / wine route. Everywhere in the city you will encounter history in old aristocratic farms, historic half-timbered houses and many fountains. A city gate is also still preserved. Bensheim is also characterized by the surrounding vineyards. The “Bergstrasse Wine Spring” takes place every year and of course a beautiful wine festival in autumn cannot be missed. Auerbach Castle, which is part of a district of Bensheim, is definitely worth mentioning.
