The Rheingau is “the” Riesling region in Germany.
In the small but fine growing area, world-famous wines ripen on the hills on the right bank of the Rhine between Wicker and Lorchhausen.
Almost 80% of the vineyard area is cultivated with this grape variety, which gives the region a very clear profile: clearly structured Rieslings that, dry or semi-dry, are among the best in the world.
Riesling is a grape variety that continually surprises with new variations and finesse thanks to its unique combination of acidity, extract and fine and elegant nuances.
Because the courier of the Prince Abbot of Fulda arrived too late with the harvest permit, late harvest was discovered on Johannisberg in 1775.
