A motif from the calendar "Sehnsucht Holmsland Klit - Impressions and Collages" by Stefan Sattler: Holmsland Klit - translated "The Holmsland Dune" - is a spit - a strip of land that in this case separates the North Sea from Ringkøbing Fjord. Located roughly in the middle of Denmark's Jutland, the maximum 2 kilometer wide band stretches around 30 kilometers along the fjord between Nymindegab in the south to Søndervig in the north.
Only 30 kilometers – and yet the region is endlessly wonderful and diverse.
On one side the rough sea with all its waves, dunes, sandy beaches, sunsets, bunkers, the fishing village of Hvide Sande pretty much in the middle and the lighthouse Nr.Lyngvig Fyr.
On the other side is the quieter, 300 km² brackish water lake Ringkøbing Fjord with its reed belt, the view to the town of Ringkøbing, which gives it its name, endless numbers of migratory birds and small, picturesque harbors.
What both have in common is the omnipresent wind, cozy holiday homes, the spit with the gently rolling hills and heath and the lock in Hvide Sande, which connects both bodies of water.
It is so difficult to capture the powerful impressions and fascinating impressions that this region of West Jutland offers in itself in pictures - this calendar tries to do it with full-format impressions and collages.
