Above the valley is the Burg Wildenstein fortress. Built between 1514 and 1554, it was a bulwark that could not be overcome by military means. Today the fortress serves as a youth hostel amidst adventurous landscapes and nature. From the air, the scenery is particularly impressive and dramatic.
