The “Alte Schmiede”, the center of Düsseldorf’s jazz life, is also a suitable platform for strong women in jazz. Since the club opened its doors in 1995, musical plans have been made here by a dedicated group of friends of modern jazz. The jazz club in the listed forge of a former factory has developed into one of the most popular venues in Germany thanks to its atmosphere and good acoustics, which WDR also appreciates for TV recordings and radio broadcasts.
