The Indian state of Kerala on the Malabar Coast in southwest India is characterized on the one hand by the lowlands of the coastal region and on the other hand by the mountain range of the Western Ghats. The coastal backwaters are known for their waterways, lakes and lagoons; In the Cardamom Hills plantations, among other things, cardamom, coffee, tea and pepper are grown and latex is obtained from the milky sap of the rubber tree. Our journey takes us from the mountains near Munnar to the coast near Kochi and to the fine sandy beaches of Kovalam, which is also known for its Ayurvedic treatments.
