The Mönchgut peninsula is a natural paradise in the southeast of Rügen. With its steep cliffs, rolling hills and small villages, it is a landscape that has retained its originality. Although the Mönchgut is only 30 square kilometers in size, it offers varied landscapes, including deep bays, sandy beaches and fields. It is one of the few regions in Germany that has largely retained its original character, which is why it is part of the UNESCO Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve. The real charm of the Mönchgut lies in its untouched nature, which can be explored on numerous hiking and cycling trails. The two highest peaks, Zickerberg and Bakenberg, offer wonderful views of rolling hills, fields and forests.
