Beautiful like jewels, the butterflies float from flower to flower in their splendor of color.
The aesthetic arrangement of the colors is admirable without appearing kitschy. So it's no wonder that artists of all stripes use them as a motif in their works.
Butterflies have always enchanted humanity, as the well-known philosopher Aristotle also dealt with the sun's jugglers.
They are still popular today and welcome guests in our gardens.
The development of this group of insects is also fascinating: metamorphosis, a complicated transformation from egg to clumsy, greedy caterpillar, to pupa, and then to a lively, nectar-munching butterfly; it works like a miracle, like a resurrection into a new life.
This calendar shows our native butterflies in their natural environment in unique beauty; They were captured by me on camera over years of work. The cover picture shows the aurora butterfly, named after the Roman goddess of the dawn.
