The Principal Market with its characteristic gabled houses and arcades is a piece of living city history. He tells about the Middle Ages, the Hanseatic League and the old merchant families.
The Peace Hall in the historic town hall was the scene of the invocation of the Spanish-Dutch Peace in 1648, which was part of the Peace of Westphalia.
