Victoria Knobloch traveled to the Chinese province around Guilin in the south of the country.
The photographer was looking for silence, beauty and the special in the everyday.
She found what she was looking for in almost every corner of this stunningly beautiful landscape.
She brought back works that seem timeless, life-affirming and often strangely distant, almost mystical.
Her portraits, situations and landscapes present touching encounters with the country and its people.
In rural areas of China, life is still slow and balanced. Using photographic means
the photographer brings the beauty of this simplicity into focus, especially with it
melancholic feeling that it will disappear at some point.
