Isarwinkel is the name of the Upper Bavarian region between Fall am Sylvensteinspeicher and Bad Tölz in the north. The diverse mountain world is a paradise for mountaineers, skiers, paragliders and mountain bikers. The formerly raging Isar, which gives this area its name, was tamed by the creation of the Sylvenstein reservoir. It is one of the most scenic reservoir lakes. In addition to the district town of Bad Tölz, the towns of Lenggries, Wackersberg, Arzbach and Gaißach with their cultural-historical churches, traditional farmhouses and cozy pub gardens are always worth a visit. Tradition and costume are very important in the Isarwinkel and festivals and events such as the Leonhardi pilgrimage in Bad Tölz and the Schnabler race in Gaißach attract thousands of visitors every year. Anyone who has visited the region once will be happy to return again and again.
