A motif from the calendar "der elbestrom urbanes" by Steffen Sennewald: Anyone who was born on the Elbestrom has very special childhood memories of the river, which is over a thousand kilometers long. Because it served as an adventure playground, for making butter, swimming and jumping on ice floes. And as a Dresden resident, the later photographer Steffen Sennewald always wanted to know whether the spit arrived in Cuxhaven and what it really looked like there. The Corona year 2020 finally offered a sufficient time window in July to photographically explore the entire Elbe river with a car, folding bike and tent. After a lot of research, a meticulously packed tour plan was created with ten to twenty lesser-known photo points every day. Between sunshine, storms and constant rain, photojournalist Steffen Sennewald took hundreds of photos to capture the Elbe stream from its source in the Giant Mountains, an hour's hike above Špindlerův Mlýn, to the Kugelbake in Cuxhaven, where it disappears into the vastness of the North Sea . The thematic series on landscape, nature, technology and urban areas illustrate the Elbe river through impressive perspectives.
