Riederalp is car-free and lives primarily from tourism. In winter, winter sports enthusiasts have access to around 104 km of slopes and 34 facilities in the Aletsch Arena ski area. In summer, Riederalp is the starting point for hikers and bikers. The suspension bridge, which opened in the summer of 2008 and connects Riederalp with Belalp, is an attraction. Golfers will find the highest 9-hole course in Europe in the middle of the village.
