Jever, or the pearl of Friesland, looks back on almost 500 centuries of city rights. Famous rulers such as Maria von Jever and Tsarina Catherine the Great felt at home in Jever Castle. In this tranquil city we find history and modernity. Many small streets invite you to stroll and linger. The castle, numerous historical buildings and more than 10 Pütten (fountains) tell stories about Jever's past. Modern and impressive, the beer towers of the Jeveraner Brewery rise into the sky and show that Jever has not fallen into a sleeping beauty sleep. The photo artist Peter Roder designed the pictures of Jever in a multifaceted way and thus reflects the pearl of Friesland.
