The Fiat Nuova 1100 was launched in Italy in 1953. In Germany it came onto the market as the NSU-Fiat Neckar, in Austria as the Steyr-Fiat. It became really popular in India, where it was built under license by the Premier company. In the 70s and 80s, the Padmini, named after a 14th century Indian princess, was cult in India.
