The north of Jutland is characterized by sea and beaches, dune landscapes, idyllic towns and incredibly intense light. From Jammerbucht in the west with its landmark, the lighthouse of Rubjerg Knude, we head to the rather gentle wintry coast near Tversted. From the beach at Gammel Skagen to the sandy St. Lawrence Church near Skagen, the picture journey continues to the northernmost tip of Jutland near Grenen with Grå Fyr, the Gray Lighthouse. This is where the North and Baltic Seas meet. At Slettestrand you have a wide view of the entire Jammer Bay from the Svinkløv bathing hotel. On the summer beach there are picturesque sunsets and magnificent dunes. The artisan town of Lønstrup shines in the evening light, with the ferry to Norway on the horizon. Fresh fish is sold in the fishing huts in the harbor of Skagen, Denmark's largest fishing port. Autumn in northern Jutland is characterized by the play of colors in the dunes, like here on the Nordsøstien hiking trail near Kettrup Bjerge. The shifting dune Råbjerg Mile appears like a desert landscape in the storm. Our journey ends where it began - at the magical lighthouse on Rubjerg Knude.
