The nature park, which was only founded in 2005, borders the eponymous Stettiner Lagoon in the north, runs along the Polish border in the east and culminates in the west with the Brohm Mountains on a total area of 53,793 hectares. The rivers Uecker, Randow and Zarow flow in the park.
10 nature reserves belong to the nature park: Gottesheide with Schlosssee and Lenzensee, the Ahlbecker Seegrund, the Rothemühl castle wall, the Altwarp inland dunes with Neuwarper See and Riether Werder, the Plöwensche Seebruch, the wild moor near Borken and Kleppelshagen.
In the sparsely populated northeast of Germany, a unique natural landscape has been preserved and developed. Extensive beech and mixed forests, moorland and many lakes are home to a unique diversity of fauna and flora. Kingfishers, wolves, eagles, large populations of red deer and occasionally even moose are the wealth of the region.
