The Moselle - Germany's second most important shipping route after the Rhine - is one of the busiest waterways in Europe.
Particularly interesting are the sections from Trier to Pünderich, known as the Middle Moselle, and the section between Pünderich and the mouth in Koblenz, the Lower Moselle or also the Terrassenmosel.
Interesting for tourists due to the beautiful landscape, the development of traffic routes began early on.
The Moselle wine route and the Moselle cycle path run in the Moselle valley, which leads from Metz in France via Trier to Koblenz.
The Moselhöhenweg has also existed since 1910, a hiking trail that is 185 km long on the Eifel side and 262 km long on the Hunsrück side.
Finally, the Moselsteig was opened in 2014, with a total of 365 kilometers of hiking trails, as well as the so-called side jumps and dream paths, allowing you to explore this wonderful area on foot.
