One of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Harz, which has been recognized as a quality hiking trail, is the Karst hiking trail. It leads from Förste in Lower Saxony through Thuringia to Pölsfeld in Saxony-Anhalt. It runs along the southern slope of Germany's northernmost low mountain range and opens up a unique natural landscape over a distance of 232 km.
