The Dresden Frauenkirche was built between 1726 and 1743 based on a design by George Bähr.
The church was badly damaged in the air raids on Dresden on the night of February 13th and 14th, 1945 and collapsed, burned out, on the morning of February 15th.
After the fall of the Wall, reconstruction began in 1994 and was completed in 2005, which support associations and donors from all over the world helped finance.
Today it is the landmark of the city of Dresden and stands as a memorial against war and destruction. The editorial team has selected this calendar for the CALVENDO Gold Edition.
