Everyone knows it and has been happy about its bright red flowers: the corn poppy. This wildflower, which was voted plant of the year, is on the one hand increasingly being pushed out of cultivated landscapes, but is spreading across fallow areas and forming colorful carpets of flowers on them in summer.
