The heart of the old town is the Old Market (Stary Rynek), the square is lined with beautiful town houses with colorful facades.
The magnificent town hall is also located on the Old Market. It was built in the Renaissance style between 1550 and 1560.
There is a fountain at all four corners of the Old Market. In the middle of the square is the baroque Proserpina Fountain, from 1766.
But there is also a lot to see a little outside the Old Market, the many streets worth seeing, the adjacent Church of Saint Stanislaus, right up to the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul.
