Koblenz – The city, which is over 2000 years old, is one of the oldest cities in Germany. It is surrounded by the mountain ranges of the Hunsrück, the Eifel and the Westerwald. Koblenz is embraced by Father Rhine and Mother Mosel, who unite at Deutsches Eck. This scene is overlooked by the mighty Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. From the old town it is never far to the next bank and a kilometer-long promenade lined with magnificent historical buildings invites you to stroll. Parts of the city have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002 and it forms the northern gateway to the “Upper Middle Rhine Valley” World Heritage Site.
