Tatra trams have been running in the former GDR since the 1960s. (monthly calendar, 14 pages)

The first Tatras from Czech production replaced many old tram cars in the GDR in the second half of the 1960s. The cities of Leipzig, Dresden and Halle/Saale were the first to use these vehicles. Later, smaller tram companies also received Tatra railways from Prague. These cars were modernized in the 1990s, but the end of their use was already in sight. Tatras no longer run in regular traffic in Erfurt and Magdeburg. You can still find them in smaller cities like Görlitz or Frankfurt/Oder.
