Industrial history has been written at Clouth Gummiwerke AG in Cologne since 1868.
A wide variety of products were manufactured here over the course of a century and a half.
The balloons and the fabric cover for the first airship designed by Graf Zeppelin, the Zeppelin LZ1, were probably among the most spectacular.
Over the course of its history, the company has owned 30 patents and has an innovative product range.
Production continued at the factory on Niehler Strasse in Cologne until December 16, 2005, and since then the Clouth company has been part of Germany's industrial history.
Today these buildings no longer exist; they were demolished in 2013.
