When you hear about Kiefernstrasse in Düsseldorf-Flingern, the first thing that comes to mind is the squatter scene in the 80s. But today it has become quiet on this street. Politically, the scene hasn't made headlines for quite some time.
A multicultural people have settled here, the main thing they have in common is that they have little money to spend. Rents are still very low on Kieferstrasse, which is why many people come here who might otherwise have ended up on the streets or in homeless settlements.
