Pictured are the main combat aircraft and military helicopters in the National People's Army, NVA. of the GDR were used in each of a used version. Not shown are transport and liaison aircraft. The photos were taken in the aircraft museums Cottbus, Gatow and Rothenburg. Many readers do not know that the NVA had more aircraft in the inventory, as the Bundeswehr. The coefficient of technical readiness was basically at 85 percent of all aircraft. The author was trained as a military engineer and has worked on the types of MiG-17, MiG-21, Mi-2 and Mi-8 itself.
