The golden ball served as a source of artistic inspiration for the photographers Ralf Wehrle and Uwe Frank for the “Goldenball” image productions. With the sphere, the absolutely symmetrical geometric body, the fine metal has found its formal counterpart. The original form, which knows neither beginning nor end, is both a law and a poem. Resting within itself, the ball demonstrates inner support and complete balance while simultaneously maintaining external strength. In connection with the male body, the insignia of power and the abstract symbols of life are brought to a comprehensible human scale. Aesthetic, powerful, dynamic, harmonious, concentrated and full of tension: the depictions are an expression of complete body control. Body geometry, nudity and naturalness.
